SWEET 16 PREVIEW

Image result for SWEET 16 NCAA

It's Thursday and somehow we survived the past three days filled with just NIT propaganda (although kudos to those Valparaiso Crusaders - into the NIT Final Four!).  It is time to dance again!

Today's blog is coming to you in Carolina Blue in honor of the amazing Tar Heel team that is destined for a Championship this year.  The greatest coach of all-time in Roy Williams must be laughing looking at what the East Region has served up for his team in Indiana, Notre Dame and Wisconsin.  These are three teams that barely were ranked most of the year.  Certainly the Tar Heels are looking to the Final Four already and a potential re-match with Virginia.  They already have earned their place in that pantheon of great teams - no sense in worrying about anything or anybody .............. EXCEPT THIS GUY:

Yogi.  In Yogi we Hoosiers trust.  Go Hoosiers! The preceding was simply a public announcement attempting to reverse curse the Tar Heels!!

If this guy can stop Jordan and the Tar Heels, Yogi and the Hoosiers have a shot!!

So how does the Hopski Field look to gain from the Sweet 16:

Picked to Make It To The:
Elite 8 Final Four

Kansas 130 114
Oklahoma 118 91
Virginia 110 27
N Carolina 93 76
Villanova 70 12
Oregon 66 23
Duke 53 14
Miami FL 46 10
Texas AM 25 16
Maryland 15 13
Indiana 13 8
Notre Dame 12 2
Wisconsin 3 0
Gonzaga 2 0
Syracuse 0 0

Gonzaga vs. Syracuse is almost the game that the Hopski forgot, as only 2 entries have picked Gonzaga into the Elite 8 (Breaking Cardinal Jewels from Harvard alum Grant Quasha of Louisville and Is Ted Cruz a Synonum for DoucheNoozle? from beloved John Springer, ex-Warsaw expat and Iowa State alum - now working in Minnesota for Polaris Industries and still shocked he has to pay for the Hopski) while Syracuse was overlooked entirely by the field this year.

There are a few entrants that can also make big moves within the standings behind Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Indiana.  Thereafter, the higher seeds (and Duke - of course) have garnered the most affection within the Hopski.

A couple of reminders:

Before tip-off tonight you can still enter (for free) the Hopski 2nd Chance Dance Sweet 16 Pool.  Up for grabs for the winner of this pool is 5% of the prize pool and bragging rights of course.  Enter with this link:  http://www.mysideline.com/u/2588/collegebbmens/2/default.htm

Please also drop me emails with your nominees for the BEST HOPSKI ENTRY NAME.  There are clearly some worthy contenders out there and YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!
